Bangalore techie arrested for killing his friends wifeA 36-year-old software engineer was arrested on Monday afternoon for allegedly killing his friend’s wife at her residence in Ulsoor in east Bengaluru.

The accused has been identified as Basudev Jena, a native of Jagatsinghpur in Odisha who was working with IT firm Mindtree and was a close friend of victim’s husband. The accused and the victim, Prachi Das (33) were living in the same building in Domlur.

Prachi was the wife of Jena’s friend Debashish Das, a software engineer from Odisha, reported The Indian Express .

The murder came to light when the houseowner, Saraswati, heard Prachi crying for help at her flat. When Saraswati reached for Prachi’s help, she saw Jena emerging from the flat with blood stains all over his body and a knife in his hand, the police said.

Prachi’s neighbours nabbed Jena and handed him over to police, who claimed that the accused has confessed to his crime.

Jena, however, did not reveal the motive behind killing Prachi.
