Bank cautions customers against fraudstersAndhra Bank has cautioned its account holders to be wary of the growing menace of cyber crime.

Addressing the media here on Thursday, bank Zonal Manager G.V. Lalitha Prasad said gangs were on the prowl on the World Wide Web to cheat customers.

According to him, the offenders are creating false e-mail addresses and sending messages of lottery draws with the sole intent of fishing out the ATM pin number or online banking passwords or one-time password (OTP). Mr. Prasad said that account holders should not fall prey to such calls and disclose the details. He also pointed out that bank officials do not contact customers over phone and seek the information relating password, PIN or OTP or for that matter VBV .

“Such malicious calls can be lodged as a complaint at toll-free number 1800 425 1515”.
