It is often said that the relation of a mother with her son is the most sacred of all, but in Agra, a son threw this relation out of the window last night, when he killed his 70 years old mother while she was sleeping and then went back to his bed to sleep through the night. The police has arrested the accused and an investigation is underway to ascertain the reason of this brutal murder.
Talking to India Today, Agra Senior Superintendent of Police Rajesh D Modak said that the residents of Davli village in Malpura police station area reported a murder on Tuesday night. The 70-year-old woman Bhoodevi was sleeping in her room when she was brutally murdered with an axe, while her four sons and their families were sleeping in other rooms close by. A local villager informed that Bhoodevi had four sons – Jagdish, Ratan, Raghuveer and Raghunath who were sleeping in the same house when she was murdered. Investigation pointed suspicion towards the unmarried son Raghunath who was sleeping in the adjoining room.
Upon interrogation, Raghunath confessed his crime and even showed the police where to find the murder weapon. The SSP said that Raghunath had lost his mental balance long time back and although he had recovered of late, he was still on medication. Whether he could have had a relapse of mental illness that made him commit this murder, was yet to be ascertained.
